New chapters come in every life and they should be celebrated even when often, "Good-byes" are a part of the old chapter closing. Living in Golden, Colorado has been a part of my life that I have cherished, both living in the downtown Golden area, within walking distance of pubs and art events will always be a part of memories I cherish.
Recently, my partner and I decided to put down deeper roots. When the opportunity arose to move back to Northern California for a little house in the beautiful forests of the Shasta Trinity National Forest (where I grew up), we took it. Our children now have room to roam amongst the same trees I grew up loving, and a home to call their own. I am still creating: illustrating children's books, painting commissioned pieces and making my own fine art pieces. Colorado will always hold a special place in my heart, and the memories we made there and the friends we met do, as well. I hope I will still be considered a "Golden" artist, as it was while living there, that I embraced my art dreams and ran after them full-tilt. While I will no longer be present at the community art gathering "LIT: Golden", that I started there at Foothills Art Center, the group itself lives on, and you can discover more at their website. Thanks for everything, Golden! And thank you all for celebrating me in this new chapter, as well.
